We’re the Perigo Family, first generation ranchers in northeastern Nevada. I’m Jess, and along with my parents Rick and Kim Perigo, we have a Black Angus cow/calf operation and sell beef from our ranch direct-to-consumer. We focus on three aspects when it comes to raising premium beef. First-genetics. We purchase bulls that have strong carcass merit, specifically in the ribeye area and marbling. Next-nutrition. We utilize steam-flaked corn in our cattle’s perfectly rationed diet. Last-animal husbandry. It’s simple: calm cows make good beef. Perigo Beef is also a proud CARE partner. CARE is a sustainability standard that certifies participating ranchers are implementing best practices in animal husbandry, environmental stewardship, and productive engagement with their local communities. From raising the cattle, to shipping the beef, we handle it all and love providing customers with the transparency behind where their food comes from. You can find us on Instagram or Facebook, @perigohaycattle, or check out our website at www.perigohaycattle.com. If you’re traveling through Ely, Nevada, you can check out our ranch’s restaurant: JT’s Steakhouse, where Jess raises the cattle, and her husband, Terrill, cooks the beef. To summarize, we’re just a small, family ranch trying to do what’s best for the customer, for the land, and for our cows.
